As well as boosting the work of Leukaemia UK, volunteering can bring other benefits, such as:

Each volunteering opportunity will require different amounts of time; however, we can be flexible with your needs if you let us know. For more information about specific time frames, please contact fundraising@leukaemiauk.org.uk.
For most of our volunteering opportunities, there isn’t a specific skill set required. We would just encourage you to bring enthusiasm and commitment! Each role will clearly outline what would be required from you, so you are able to choose something right for you.
We understand people lead busy lives, so we’re grateful for any time you can spare to help Leukaemia UK. We will discuss what sort of volunteering best suits your skills and the time you have available.
Our volunteers do all kinds of work, including:
- Helping with or organising fundraising events, including coffee mornings or tea parties.
- Helping us cheer on Leukaemia UK runners at the London Marathon.
- Offering a specialist skill, such as graphic design or photography.
- Organising workplace fundraising, such as team challenges or charity days.
Volunteering will give you a great sense of pride and achievement. You will meet new people and learn more about our vital work. You will be able to develop your skills and learn new ones along the way (which will always look good on your CV). You might choose to support Leukaemia UK if you have supported us before, but if you haven’t, we would love for you to get involved in one of our many opportunities.
Most of our volunteering roles at Leukaemia UK will consist of an informal chat over the telephone. This is to understand what we have on offer and what you would like to get out of the experience. This would be a perfect chance to ask any questions you may have before signing up to a role.
Yes, Leukaemia UK will reimburse you for reasonable expenses. The exact type of expenses will be confirmed with you once start a role.
We will offer you training and guidance to make sure you are fully equipped to fulfil your volunteer role.
We would love all our volunteers to be happy and enjoy their time volunteering for Leukaemia UK, however if you find yourself unhappy and wanting to leave, you can. If you do decide to leave, we would appreciate feedback to understand why, so we can help future volunteers. We would always welcome you back for another volunteering role.
