Meet some of our amazing star supporters

This year has seen some incredible fundraising activities from our amazing supporters. From bake sales, to biking, swimming to singing – you have done it all. Here’s a round up of just some of our star supporters in 2024.

The Sparkly Singers

The amazing Sparkly Singers are a Wiltshire-based choir experience, founded with the simple aim of bringing the joy and benefits of group singing to everyone. With an emphasis on having fun, and songs infused with a unique mix of humour, movement and the occasional wacky prop – The Sparkly Singers really do know how to put the FUN into fundraising

In September 2022, they adopted Leukaemia UK as their official charity, in memory of one of their members who tragically lost their ongoing battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.  Since then, the choir is extremely proud to have raised over £2000 to help fund vital research.

Malcolm Knight

This incredible fundraising achievement truly showcases the community’s spirit and the deep love they all shared for Ruth. From rowing and walking to a heartwarming BBQ and a birthday fundraiser, a variety of activities brought everyone together.

Malcolm initially set a goal of £7,000, but thanks to the overwhelming support, they more than doubled that amount—an amazing achievement we can all celebrate!

Two Crazy Ladies

‘Two Crazy Ladies’ Anna and Paula are an incredible running duo, who are in fact neighbours! They have gone from occasionally taking part in park run to running the Lisbon marathon, all in aid of Leukaemia UK! They have raised a combined total of £5846, which will make a huge difference to our research.

Their inspiration behind this challenge is the wonderful, Bodhi, who most recently can be seen making pancakes with Elliot Grover.

Anna and Paula have done an incredible job fundraising and raising awareness!

Rita Snutch

Rita has been out in all weathers, raising life-changing funds for Leukaemia UK since 2020, by running her market stall in North Yorkshire. After losing her beloved husband to leukaemia in 2019, Rita decided to host her weekly market stall in the picturesque village of Reeth, near Richmond with all proceeds coming to Leukaemia UK. This year alone Rita has raised over £1000 – we think she is amazing! If you are in the area, you can catch Rita at her stall every Friday, from April – September.

Gill Windsor

Gill’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. As she approached four years in remission from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in October, Gill decided to embark on another fundraising adventure for Leukaemia UK. Having conquered The London Marathon in 2022, she sought an even greater challenge to demonstrate her unwavering determination and courage. This October, Gill took a leap of faith—quite literally—by skydiving from 13,000 feet, despite her fear of heights. Her incredible feat not only showcased her bravery but also raised over £1,500. Gill – we think you are incredible!

We’ve had a phenomenal 2024, and it’s all because of you—our incredible supporters!

Your dedication in raising funds, sharing your heartfelt stories, and spreading the values and mission of Leukaemia UK in your communities has made a huge difference to people living with leukaemia. You are a part of the Leukaemia UK family, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

From all of us on the fundraising team, thank you for making 2024 such a smashing success. Here’s to making 2025 even better together!
