The food industry’s great and good come together to celebrate 25 years of Who’s Cooking Dinner? and raise over £280,000 for leukaemia research.

London’s hottest charity culinary event, Who’s Cooking Dinner?, celebrated its 25th anniversary at The Dorchester on Monday (16th September).

It was an event to remember with chefs including Tom Kerridge, Elliott Grover, Romy Gill, Tom Booton, Soon Li Ong and Ravinder Bhogal cooking up a storm for guests including Claire Forlani, Dougray Scott, Hannah Peckham and Georgia Harrison. The evening raised over £280,000, smashing its target, and adding to the overall £8 million raised in 25 years to fund vital research for Leukaemia UK.

The 25th anniversary event saw more chefs than ever coming together to create a fundraising event like no other, where each table of guests were treated to dishes created by a different famous chef, without knowing who was cooking their dinner before arriving on the night.

Co-founded by restaurant luminaries Chris Corbin OBE and Peter Gordon ONZM in 1999, the event has raised over £8 million to date and has been supported by a huge array of famous faces including Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey, Marcus Wareing and Rick Stein. It was also at last night’s event that Chris Corbin was announced as Leukaemia UK’s newest Patron to continue his dedicated support for the charity. Chris Corbin said:

“25 years ago, Peter and I had an idea to create a fundraiser with a difference. We wanted to use our culinary contacts to produce an event that would be a headliner in the world of hospitality and raise much-needed funds for vital research into treatments for leukaemia. We are so proud of how Who’s Cooking Dinner? has grown and become the event it is today.”

Every hour, someone in the UK is diagnosed with leukaemia, a type of blood cancer, with 60,000 people in the UK currently living with the disease. Coinciding with Blood Cancer Awareness Month, this unique event helps Leukaemia UK to fund life-saving research to stop the disease from devastating lives.

Michelin Star chef Tom Kerridge, who has been part of the event for the past 10 years, said: “Who’s Cooking Dinner? is one of the best charity events in London. It’s fantastic to see the UK’s restaurant industry come together to help raise vital funds for Leukaemia UK in such a fun and creative way. I’m looking forward to the next 25 years!”
