Early Careers Researcher Conference

Leukaemia UK’s annual conference is back!

The all-day conference will take place on Thursday 28th January 2027 at the Wellcome Collection in London.

Early Careers Science Seminar - Two Researchers Discussing A Poster Submission

We’re delighted to announce that Leukaemia UK’s annual conference will be back in January 2027, and with some significant changes.

In previous years the event was restricted to researchers funded by Leukaemia UK, but this time we’re opening it up to all Early Career Researchers (ECRs) from across the UK working on leukaemia, not just those funded by us. In addition to research presentations and posters, there will be sessions on patient perspectives, career development and networking. Although the programme is aimed at ECRs and research-presenting opportunities are restricted to ECRs, more senior UK leukaemia researchers are very welcome to register and attend the event, too.

We hope that this refreshed event will provide a valuable opportunity for ECRs working in the leukaemia field to share their research, meet their colleagues and gain some helpful advice on developing their careers.

Be part of this year’s conference

Want to submit your work?

Abstracts are invited from Early Career Researchers (defined as PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, untenured researchers either currently or recently funded by early-career fellowships, and those setting up their research groups within the first two years of a permanent academic appointment) working in the field of leukaemia in a UK academic institution. We welcome abstracts from UK ECRs, whether they are funded by Leukaemia UK or not.

There will be several oral presentation slots available, as well as posters. These will be selected by our academic Programme Committee members. In addition, short ‘turbo’ presentation slots will be available to a small number of selected poster presenters to highlight their work before the main poster session.

There will also be prizes for the best poster and oral presentations, as judged by an academic panel.

Submit an abstract for a poster or talk

Please note that at least one of the authors will need to be registered for the conference in order to present a poster. For oral presentations, the speaker will also need to be registered.

The deadline for submitting abstracts is Thursday 26th November. Once the submission window has closed, we are unable to accept any changes to abstracts.
