Our Trustees contribute their time and experience to the Board on a voluntary basis and are responsible for helping us advance our strategic goals and ensuring there is accountability within the charity towards staff and the communities we serve.
Governance and leadership
Fiona Hazell is Leukaemia UK’s Chief Executive, responsible for leading the charity’s strategic goals and driving progress for people affected by leukaemia. Fiona works closely with our Chair of Trustees, Ian McCafferty, who provides her with support support and mentoring, and is responsible for developing and bringing the Board together around the decisions the charity needs to make.
Leukaemia UK has four sub-committees which oversee key areas of the charity’s work and make recommendations to the Board. These are Finance, People & Culture, Remuneration and Development.
Our Scientific and Medical Panel members provide expert advice to the Board of Trustees and our senior management, in relation to the granting of Leukaemia UK charitable funds for the purposes of medical and scientific research. Panel members are listed below.
Annual report and accounts
Since the merger of Leuka and Leukaemia UK in 2019, we have been dedicated to being an even greater force for change for those whose lives are impacted by a leukaemia diagnosis. In 2022, Leukaemia UK revealed a new strategy aiming to go further than ever to stop leukaemia devastating lives.
