Someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 14 minutes, more than 34,000 people a year. For 40 years Leukeamia UK has been working to fund innovative and effective research into finding a cure and better treatments for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders.

After completing our 10km run in February this year, me and Ramesh decided to sign up for the 10km Vitality run on 28th May. This time I have decided to fundraise specifically for Leukeamia UK (and Ramesh has so kindly done also) as this is a cause I hold close to my heart

In July this year,I will become a Mrs to my best friend of 7 years!- Whilst this will be the best day of our lives unfortunately there will be a special someone missing (who will of course be with us in spirit).

At the tender age of 23, my late father in law lost his battle to Leukeamia for the 2nd time around when Jack and his sister were aged just 3 and 4. In light of this, I dedicate this 10km to Mitchell in his memory, as well as those who have also lost their fight or are continuing their battle with this awful disease.

The work that Leukaemia UK do is truly amazing as they support those affected by blood cancer, and their family and friends, through the physical, psychological and financial uncertainty that lies ahead.

Please take the time to visit their website and see some of the wonderful projects they are involved in:

Any donation no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated towards this worthy cause!
