Our hearts broke in two on Friday 18 June 2021 with the passing of our darling Dad, Roger Jones, aka Nut-Nut to Isla and Bella, Nandad Jones to Sam, Lucas and Wren.

As a lot of you may know, Dad was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in September 2020, which he accepted with the utmost grace and positivity. It may have slowed him down with a number of hospital stays but he wasn't one for letting it get him down. He was positive until the very end, still getting out whenever he could to meet with friends and spend time with family.

There will be no funeral as per Dad's wishes but there will be a celebration of his life in September 2021 which we will share the arrangements for in the coming weeks when we know more.

Fundamentally to us, Dad was a family man. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him and he made sure he saw us as often as possible.

Dad had so, SO many friends from his school days, working as a journalist, forming Roving Reporters football and cricket clubs, the Barnet Sunday League, everyone who he played sport with and against, and meeting so many different people along the way. Incredibly with knowing so many people, Dad always made the effort to keep in touch with everyone and he loved nothing more than to share a glass of wine or three with friends and family at the pub, sometimes accompanied by a very well done steak! He had a memory like no-one else for details and would remember every person and event.

We will miss Dad terribly but have such wonderful memories to keep us going when times get tough. We have loved hearing from his friends over the last few days and are starting to collate stories and photos via [email protected]

We are raising money for Leukaemia UK in Dad's memory.
