On the 15th September 2021, our family received the devastating news that our amazing father had been diagnosed with T-PLL an extremely rare and aggressive form of Leukaemia. We were given a prognosis of 3-6 months without treatment or with a course of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, there was a glimmer of hope he may be able to beat this disease. My dad never once dwelt on the negative side of his condition, choosing only to focus on the positive. He had his first dose of chemotherapy on 18th October, unfortunately, he had a severe reaction to the second dose he received on the 20th, and on top of that developed a chest infection. Due to this the treatment had to be suspended until he had recovered. Sadly, the Leukaemia took advantage of his weakened state and whilst he fought the bravest fight to try and stay with us, he passed away surrounded by his family on 3rd November 2021.

So In honour of our hero! This amazing husband/ father/ grandfather and great-grandfather.

My family and I have set up a fundraising page to not only raise awareness of this terrible disease, but to help fund the research in the hope that one day, no other family will have to go through what we’ve been through.
