Sam Peard is one of our players, here at Whiteheads RFC, who has flourished since he started playing rugby. A keen all round sportsman Sam was new to rugby last season as he wanted to play with his mates and tried his hand in several school games and showed real potential. Sam is always eager to learn, trains hard and has a high level of natural ability. Not only this, he is also one of the nicest 16 yr old boys you could meet off the field. Sam is always helping to set training drills up, support his mates if not involved and pushing himself to develop more each training session or game and has become a core member of the starting XV. He has been putting extra work in through the off season and the Covid 19 lock down in readiness for the new season ahead and challenge of playing youth rugby in Gwent

Unfortunately Sam was dealt a blow this month after suddenly becoming unwell and being admitted into hospital, it was then discovered Sam had Leukemia. Sams parents broke the news to our squad early July, that he had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This came as a shock to the whole team and as a close group community based rugby club we want to support Sam and his family through the challenging times ahead. We know Sam has immense strength, courage and determination to fight this and we are all right by his side helping him through this journey

This fundraising page will be a platform for us a club, and as a band of brothers to raise awareness and financial support for fundamental research in the fight against Leukemia

We thank everyone for your support Whiteheads Youth RFC
