In January 2019 our world was turned upside down when our amazing husband/daddy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. His only hope of a cure was a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Allan endured numerous different types of chemotherapy and spent many weeks in hospital. Sadly all available treatments to prepare him for transplant failed (including ones we paid for privately) and we were given the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done.

Allan fought bravely throughout his journey, kept his great sense of humour & never once complained. Our beautiful children (aged 7, 9 & 12 at the time) were always his greatest concern & he fought so hard to be here for them.

Allan was the most selfless person we know. He spent his entire life helping others, both through his work as a Royal Marine and Police Officer and on a daily basis to those around him. He touched the hearts of everyone he met.
Now it’s our turn to honour this memory and do something to help.

The journey has been extremely hard for the whole family;
The things we went through, the things we saw, the difficult conversations, the loss & the struggle to rebuild ourselves is something we wouldn’t wish on anyone.
We hope that by raising some much needed funds for Leukaemia research, we can help prevent another family from suffering. There is so much more to learn about Leukaemia.

As a family we are aiming to collectively walk, run and cycle 300 miles in 30 days between 18th November & 18th December - a mile for each day that Allan bravely fought this dreadful disease.
Please help us to make a difference ❤️ Wendy Simpson
