There are 250,000 people in the UK living with blood cancers. My Dad had a blood cancer, although we didn't know it at the time. His sister also had a blood cancer as well as our little cousin. More recently I realised that my daughter's fabulous teacher is living with Leukaemia and in this past month a dear walking friend is supporting her partner through aggressive treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia.
Blood cancer is far more common than I had realised, and there isn't a cure for it.

I would like to raise awareness, and also funds, to support the research into kinder and more effective treatment for people fighting blood cancers. I have therefore chosen to cycle one mile for every 1,000 people in the UK living with blood cancers, which equates to 250 miles over one month. I will clock up the miles using both the indoor and outdoor bikes and will record my mileage on Strava. This won't be easy, but then a challenge isn't meant to be easy!
