Birgitta joined Leukaemia UK at the end of 2017 and has worked in the charity sector for 25 years in senior roles within a large grant-making foundation and trust fundraising roles for both national and local charities.

The Trust Fundraiser role commenced during the charity’s rebrand in 2017 and Birgitta was in charge of the communication to existing donors to share the new journey the charity was taking to support those affected by blood cancer.

Birgitta is now in charge of researching new trusts to support the work of Leukaemia UK with a regular income stream and also the careful stewardship of existing funders.  Blood cancer remains the third biggest cancer killer in the UK and trust grants are very important to us as a charity as we work towards a time when the level of research investment into cures and treatments reflects the prevalence of these diseases.
